Coronavirus: US Senators face calls to resign over ‘insider trading’

The american Senator James Inhofe and three of his colleagues are mired in an insider trading scandal which could lead to their resignation, even to be accused of treason relative to the background of the coronavirus crisis.

The four senators face increasingly insistent calls for resignation for their involvement in an insider trading scandal that allowed them to sell stocks before the stock market collapsed

Congressmen James Inhofe, Richard Burr, Kelly Loeffler and Dianne Feinstein sold millions of dollars in shares at a time when the White House was still minimizing the danger of the pandemic.

The association Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (Crew) appealed to the Senate ethics committee to establish: “in these difficult times, any indication that a senator may have abused his function to avoid personal loss is a cause for deep concern, ” outraged the association.

Fox News said that “there is no greater crime than betraying your country in times of crisis”.
