King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, chaired on Friday the opening of the first session of the fourth legislative year of the tenth legislature.
Upon his arrival at the headquarters of the Parliament, the King, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, saluted the national flag while the national anthem was playing, and reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard that paid the honors.
The Sovereign was then greeted by Habib El Malki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abdelhakim Benchamach, Speaker of the House of Advisors, Mohammed Yacoubi, Wali of the Rabat-Sale-Kénitra region, Governor of Rabat Prefecture, and the Secretaries General of the two Houses of Parliament.
the King headed afterwards to the official stand of Parliament and, after Quran verses were read, delivered a speech to members of both Houses of Parliament.
Subsequently, King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, received Habib El Malki, who presented to the Sovereign the report on the activities of the House of Representatives during the last 20 years and those relating to the 2016-2021 mid-legislature and the 2018-2019 legislative years, as well as several House publications.
the King also received Abdelhakim Benchamach, who presented to the Sovereign several publications relating to the activities of the House of Advisors for the 2018-2019 legislative year.
The Sovereign also received Mustapha Ramid, Minister of State for Human Rights and Relations with Parliament, who presented to HM the King the report on Government action in its relations with the Parliament for the 3rd legislative year of the 10th legislature.
the King, then, presided over a reception in honor of the members of the House of Representatives and Advisors on the occasion of the opening of the first session of the fourth legislative year of the 10th legislature.
