The book titled “Morocco and Africa: Vision of a King” by the Mauritanian writer and journalist Abdallah Oueld Mhamdi was presented Saturday in Rabat, in the presence of several personalities.
The 176-page book highlights the historical relationship between Morocco and Africa and depicts Morocco’s achievements in the African continent for two decades, in keeping with the vision of King Mohammed VI, who provided a framework for these relations in Africa. political, economic and religious fields.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Oueld Mhamdi emphasized that this book published by the Cultural Center of the book, tries to make a reading of the last developments in the process of the relations between Morocco and Africa carried out under the High Directives of the Sovereign.
“Morocco has become thanks to the vision of HM the King, an important and politically influential player in Africa,” he said, adding that this vision also paved the way for Moroccan companies to invest in Africa. various economic fields such as telecommunications, insurance and entrepreneurship.
He also underlined the contribution to the Kingdom “to the spiritual security” of Africa through a series of initiatives including the training of African imams in the Mohammed VI Institute of Morchidines and Morchidates formation, the implementation of the place of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African ulemas, as well as through religious talks.
The author of the book pointed out that the visits made by King Mohammed VI to the various corners of the African continent to open new doors to cooperation have led to the return of Morocco to the African Union, which concretely confirms that the Sovereign has a strategic vision of the continent’s religious and investment priorities.
For his part, the writer and journalist Abdelouahab Badrakhan said that the author presents in his book the approach of the King regarding relations with Africa, in a variety of perspectives and in the diversity of ideas and integration initiatives, “a vision worthy of following”.
He announced that the publication of this book coincides with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the accession of King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His glorious ancestors and provides an opportunity to review the ongoing efforts in various fields to maintain and consolidate stability and strengthen Morocco’s international and regional position.
