King Mohammed VI decides to assign a financial subsidy as Morocco’s contribution to the restoration and refurbishment of some areas of the Al Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings

In the framework of the permanent request and attention granted by Amir Al Muminin (Commander of the Believers), King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, Al Quds Asharif and the preservation of its architectural monuments and heritage civillizacional and spiritual, the King has decided to assign a financial subsidy as contribution of the Kingdom of Morocco to the restoration and refurbishment of some spaces inside the holy mosque of Al Aqsa and its surroundings.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation indicates that this high Royal generosity is part of the constant and continuous efforts that the Sovereign does not cease to deploy at all levels in favor of the city of Al Quds Acharif, in support of the resistance of its inhabitants and the defense of the historical status of this city and the consecration of its civilizational identity and its religious value as an open space of coexistence and tolerance among the different celestial religions.

In this framework, Moroccan architects and artisans will be sent to preserve the secular architectural authenticity of the Al Aqsa Mosque, adds the Ministry.

King Mohammed VI , Amir Al Muminin, ordered that this operation be carried out in coordination with the Administration of the Islamic Waqf of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the communique concludes.
