French police have arrested three people in connection with a planned terrorist attack planned against an Iranian opposition rally that took place this Saturday in Villepinte, outside of Paris,
Efe informed judicial sources.
These three people join the two citizens of Belgian nationality and Iranian origin arrested on Saturday in Brussels and an Iranian diplomat detained in Germany.
The Belgian prosecutor’s office had informed today that two of the three arrested in France had been released, but the judicial sources Gallic said they are being interrogated.
The Paris anti-terrorist prosecutor’s office began its investigations on Thursday for the charge of “criminal association of criminals for terrorist purposes” and the arrests in France took place on Saturday, the same day of the meeting of the Council
National of the Iranian Resistance, attended by about 25,000 people.
The investigation, according to the sources, is in the hands of the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI, the intelligence services) and tries to determine also the alleged relationship between the different suspects.
