1st Summit of Heads of State and Government of Congo Basin Climate Commission & Blue Fund Opens in Brazzaville with Participation of HM the King

HM King Mohammed VI arrived, on Sunday afternoon, at the Kintele International Conference Center in Brazzaville to take part in the 1st Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Climate Commission of the Congo Basin and the Blue Fund for the Congo Basin.
Upon his arrival, the Sovereign was welcomed by President of the Republic of the Congo, H.E. Denis Sassou N’Guesso, before reviewing a detachment of the Republican Guard.

Afterwards, HM the King posed for a family photo with the Heads of State and Government participating in this Summit.

The Summit is aimed at taking stock of the activities of the Climate Commission of the Congo Basin and the Blue Fund for the Congo Basin and collecting resources to finance programs and projects in the areas of the blue economy, the green economy and the fight against climate change.

In addition to the Kingdom of Morocco, the Brazzaville Summit brings together the Heads of State and Government of fifteen countries (Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Chad, Zambia, Niger, Guinea, Senegal), as well as the Chairperson of the African Union Commission.
